Penguins, one of the oddities of the bird world, have chosen to fly underwater, rather than the air above. In doing so, they seem, to us, rather comical figures as they walk about on land, their grace of movement only apparent beneath the waves. At nesting time the males spend their days at sea, catching food which will be regurgitated to feed the mother and chicks when they return home after dark.
